Welcome to the National Park Service Think Tank, a blog dedicated to uncovering the strongest, most viable, and effective technology tools for use in NPS interpretation as part of Made For the Media by Incredible Places.

Currently the National Park Service has formed a committee to evaluate existing technology, media and how they may be used in the parks in future. As part of that endeavor, Incredible Places invites technology and media producers to tell us about your solutions and share ideas. We want to know what new cool stuff is out there, what media experiences and technology you have that you believe would benefit the National Parks, and your ideas for how we can educate people about our natural resources.

The National Park Service current agenda is called the Renaissance of Interpretation and consist five pillars. Two of them are using \"emerging technologies\" and working with \"partnerships\".

We invite you to submit your ideas, technology solutions, services, applications, media, and anything related you feel would make a great contribution to the National Park System\'s Interpretation which includes exhibits, films, self guided tours, and all the educational material you see when you visit a park. This also includes solutions for handicapped and elderly who are not able move around like the general public.

Interactive multimedia offers a retention rate of 35% which leads to obvious benefits exist for uses in exhibits and for handicapped people. The application and possibilities are boundless and is in the interest of educating people about National Park Service and similar organizations in need of these applications.
